
Training Of Councillors
NGOGCN has today, 1st August, organised a training of councillors in local governance systems, gender mainstreaming in their respective councils, their key functions and how they can influence decision making processes and policy outcomes. The training, which is taking place in Mzuzu is being attended by all the 11 councillors who won the May elections in the northern region and is to be followed by other trainings on the same in the Central and Southern regions respectively.
The trainings were part of the capacity building process meant to give the councillors the necessary skills increase retention of these women in local councils during the next election and is being supported by the Royal Norwegian Embassy.
